Meaning of Hypoallergenic

Many people misunderstand the meaning of this term. When this term or symbol is used on a product many people think it means they can not experience reaction. Many with sensitivities often look for this term.

Hypoallergenic means LESS LIKELY TO CAUSE REACTION.
This is not stating that it will not. No product should claim that a reaction can not be experienced as even a pure natural product can still cause reaction to those with a sensitivity to the ingredient.
I for example am allergic to camomile, often an ingredient found in these types of claims. However, I would hardly call puffy eyes or swollen red cracked looking skin a hypoallergenic ingredient. (This description is what I look like when this ingredient is applied to my skin) Pretty picture? I assure you not.

Many of these products still contain harsh chemicals and even natural ingredients above case in point prove this term is misused.

Why visit a Professional Skincare Specialist or Esthetician

Welcome to my blog where it is my desire to inspire you to make clean beauty choices. Long gone are the days were green beauty was seen only as those who refrained from make up, wore only organic cotton clothing and Birkenstocks. ( I swore I would NEVER wear Birkenstocks and now I am a lover of them.) However, I am a make up wearer, I do love fashion and I am a product junkie. All to which I can continue to love and participate while making healthy choices.

My first post I thought should be as to why visit a professional.

As a skin care professional we are educated on the workings of the skin, the anatomy of the skin, and each individual layer and how it works, pore structure, skin types and the inner workings of the skin. We are also highly educated in skin care chemistry.
We understand, molecular structure, absorption, ingredients, composition and combining of ingredients and we know how and why our products are going to give you the results you are looking to achieve.

We are trained to recognize skin conditions, diseases and disorders and early warning skins of skin cancer. We are also trained in nutrition. YES what you eat, can tell us a lot about your skin. Feeding your skin is internal (proper diet) and External (product assisted).

Trusted professionals will partner with like minded professionals such as Nutritionists, Naturopathic Dr.'s, Medical professionals, Dermatologists and Specialists. If we cant help you we are armed with information and direction of people who can.

Our first concern is the health and wellness of your skin and your well being. Not meeting sales quotas, not winning contests for selling the most of the "new products" or working towards earning new cars and not for building our chains in direct marketing.
We are trained first in the workings of the skin and the how and why you are experiencing the issues that you maybe experiencing.

Of course I offer product in my spa to retail but I can promise you I have spent hours in education seminars, attending workshops and meeting education requirements insisted upon in my industry and those of spa partners I choose to work with. We are educated on this line, how it is created, what is in it, what it is going to do for you and WHY! We have not taken a weekend course or attended a national seminar to obtain our information. This takes years of learning and continued education.

As a Facial Therapy Specialist I have travelled North America and Europe seeking the best education from industry leaders, Nutritionists, and Physicians and I pride myself in choosing only the best in education and in product to offer clients.

I have spent the last 15 years of my career gaining knowledge to better educate myself, educate my clients, train and inspire other professionals in an industry I love. This is why I suggest you visit a professional in a professional and private environment.
If you are not in my area and you are looking for a trusted professional email me and I will see what I can do with my Network of professionals to recommend someone in your area. I could go on and on in this blog as to why but all I ask you is that you take your own health into your own hands and seek what is best for yourself.

Ask questions, read ingredients, and treat your skin and yourself as should be treated. After all our skin is our largest organ of the body.
